Primary Skills
I have had the good fortune to work with some of the largest organizations doing some of the most cutting edge design projects for Apple, Visa, and DellTechnologies as well as smaller agencies like Razorfish and Rebellion Design Co. My roles have primarily been as Senior Visual Designer, Brand, UX/UI, and Production Artist. Generating extensive site work from concept value propositions to UX, image sourcing, illustration, and production art using self-guided problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration.
My work has extended to email and social campaigns as well as event design support and presentation design from the Apple Watch announcement to smaller intradepartmental presentations of A/B concepts. Additionally, it has included point-of-purchase collateral designs and other print promotions.
B2C and B2B marketing can involve many skills that I have contributed to my teams’ design solutions including illustration, Gen AI, video editing, infographics, motion graphics, and icon design. Typically being in the unique position to follow projects from concept through to production art, I have rewritten protocols for efficiency and clear communication among multiple teams. These protocols include asset naming standards that contain identifying codes, reorganization of icon libraries for ease of use and tracking, accessibility standards, and consequently, I was asked to write the guidelines for image AI generation for DellTechnologies with guard rails to protect against copyright issues.
Using Figma to update the latest DellTechnologies design system went beyond the usual grids, color palette, and font ramp to include all the primitives, tokens, variables, variants, modes, and conditional usages. This required building each component from these base objects with extensive instructions to both the design team and the developers.
My journey has taken me along many paths including Art Director of a small health and lifestyle magazine on the Apple Newsstand that they named “What’s Hot” and college design instructor and Director of Education as well as work for numerous freelance clients. And, rather than listing these experiences, it is more important to emphasize that the success of all this work is predicated on the clear communication of the main message to the audience.
